I’ve started taking advantage of the new features of Google Reader, including sharing my favorite items, and adding my shared items feed to this blog. As a resul, its time to address a lingering problem. The Wordpress RSS Widget included in the install sucks. Sure, sure, I could go add some custom CSS to style the feed and get it a little better, but I don’t use a blog so I can fool around with CSS all day. So How can I add RSS feeds to my wordpress sidebar and have it look good? The answer is the KB Advanced RSS Feed Widget for Wordpress

You need a current installation of Wordpress

Instructions:

  1. Download the Advanced RSS Feed Wordpress Plugin
  2. Activate the Plugin (inside Wordpress admin area, plugins tab, click Activate link next to “KB Advanced RSS Widget”
  3. Go to Presentation tab => Sidebar Widgets and drag “KB Advanced RSS 1″ from the bottom to your sidebar and “Save Changes”
  4. You can style this feed very easily. Using the included options. I will have more posts on styling this feed.
